Vision

The Eco-Informatics Center is envisioned as a web-enabled, publicly accessible resource centre for integrated and value-added information on ecology and environment that actively promotes collaboration in applied research and capacity building activities.

Three objectives of the centre are;

• Assemble, organise and disseminate information (ecological, biophysical and socio-economic) for use by researchers, students, teachers, policy makers and a wide range of other stakeholders who are interested in conservation and management of natural resources
• Promote applied research through organization and dissemination of databases, modeling and development of tools and software.
• Conduct capacity building activities for environmental professionals in spatial tools, databases and modeling
