Recruitment is just another word for hiring with a more professional tone to it. It basically means to appoint the best candidate/s for a certain job and is done through a step by step process before the final choice is made. A recruitment process can be short and easy as well as long and difficult depending on the nature of the job and the expertise it demands. Most high-end companies will call applicants for more than one interview at different times as they want to make sure they’re taking onboard the right person. Whereas small and medium companies or institutions usually get things done in one go.
The entire process from start to finish is carried out under the supervision of the company’s human resource manager who is responsible for identifying the need for more hires, plan the series of actions, search and identify candidates based on their qualifications and need of the company. After this, the ideal applicants are called on the telephone for an initial screening and a face to face interview, which usually consists of a panel of professionals. Once the best aspirant has been chosen he or she is provided with an employment contract and needs to agree in order to join the company team. As for the applicant, the most crucial stage is the final interview but to even be considered for a screening, a well-written CV is the main requirement.
CV stands for curriculum vitae. It is one of the most important documents a person will prepare for life and the likeliness of getting a job very much depends on how well it is presented. A CV contains a candidate’s basic profile, information on academic qualifications, previous job experience if applicable, achievements along with additional skills and interests. Although there are no basic rules that determine whether a CV is good or bad it will seem more appealing to the recruiter if it grammatically errors free, contains all the necessary information and highlights a person’s qualities in a professional manner.
